The Site
Dismissed by others as an impossible site, the plot appeared trapped in a hollow beneath a towering oak and surrounded by steep topography. Through a meticulous study of regulations, sunlight and sightlines, the constraints became opportunities. The house rises above the perceived depression to reveal a breathtaking panorama of the Alps, while the once-feared oak becomes a celebrated presence, framing daily life and lending the chalet its unique identity.

A House of Many Styles
The chalet unfolds as a sequence of distinct yet connected worlds. A private master suite occupies the upper floor, enjoying complete seclusion and commanding alpine views. The main living level balances conviviality and intimacy through a generous kitchen, fireplace-centred living room and cosy library retreat. Below, a wellness floor combines guest suites, fitness and relaxation spaces, allowing family and visitors to share the chalet while preserving privacy and independence.

Rather than entering conventionally from above, guests arrive through the lower level, where a carefully choreographed sequence reveals the owners' passions. A generous glass-lined gallery showcases the wine cellar and indoor countercurrent pool before leading to a sculptural staircase washed in indirect light. As one ascends, glimpses of water, stone and mountain views unfold gradually, transforming arrival into an experience that captures the spirit of the chalet itself.

We were warned not to buy this plot. Today, the view takes our breath away. The chalet offers a different experience from morning to night, and we love every one of them.
